So far things are good, but will get back to you when i have used them both for a bit of time. I can say this, that Apple should start implementing more of these jailbreaks!

Macworld is reporting the following news story.
Earlier on Tuesday, Verizon announced that its unlimited data plan will stick around for a little while after the iPhone’s launch. Speaking to Macworld later in the day, Verizon Wireless’s Executive Director of Corporate Communications, Brenda Raney, also confirmed pricing details about the mobile hotspot option the carrier announced at the Verizon iPhone’s introduction earlier this month.

Raney said that Verizon iPhone owners will be able to take advantage of the 3G wireless hotspot feature for an extra $20 per month on top of the iPhone’s required voice and data plans—that’s the same price that applies to current Verizon smartphone owners.

Activating the wireless hotspot feature on your Verizon iPhone will allow you to use the device as a sort of portable Wi-Fi router for up to five devices, such as notebook computers and iPads (to learn more about mobile hotspots, check out Marco Tabini’s overview).

The hotspot feature comes with its own 2GB monthly data pool, separate from your iPhone’s data plan. That covers the use of any and all devices using your iPhone’s 3G data connection. The downside? Go over that amount, and each additional gigabyte will cost you another $20.

Though the availability of mobile hotspot features has broadened on carriers like Verizon and Sprint, AT&T has so far not introduced it on any of its phones, including the iPhone—presumably due to the carrier’s continuing struggle to keep up with iPhone users’ data demands. Reports suggest the feature will be available as of iOS 4.3, though, like the MMS feature in iOS 3.0, it will likely have to be enabled by carriers that choose to support it. (The iPhones at Verizon’s event were running a hitherto unreleased iOS 4.2.5).

By contrast, AT&T only offers the ability to tether a single device to the iPhone, via USB or Bluetooth, also for $20 per month. However, AT&T doesn’t provide an additional pool of data for tethering use; in order to use tethering, the customer must be subscribed to the iPhone’s $25 per month 2GB data plan, and any tethered devices count against that limit. Verizon’s offer of its existing mobile hotspot plans at the same price to iPhone owners marks one feature that differentiates it from AT&T.

The iPad makes the movement in the game feel natural and the controls make the game play beautifully accurate; you will salivate at the 3D environment of this game in motion. Snake Galaxy also features a great soundtrack, but you can listen to your own music while playing.

So far I must say, that I have no issues with anything. No screen issues no reception issues,nothing! It works great and I have no issues to complain about. I do wish for a few things to change though.
It needs to upload the video in HD to you tube.
It needs to get more 4.o apps quicker.
Other then that I love this thing. It's fast it's cool looking and delivers in every way possible!

Pro Zombie Soccer Continued

I realized that my last review for pro zombie soccer was a little lacking in info and didn't do the app justice so I'll make up for it with this post. Pro Zombie soccer has a whole story to it. You are a kid who didn't make the soccer team. Then one day he's walking through an alley and the star player who looks like a zombie comes up and bites him. Instead of him becoming a zombie he gets the players great skills. He must use those skills to defend himself from swarms of zombies. All he has is a soccer ball to use. You as the controller drag the ball back at an angle like a slingshot aiming for the zombies (and their heads). As you build up points you can collect power ups. One is lightning strike where you control lightning. Another one makes your ball cut through the zombies like butter. As you go through the levels new and stronger zombies arise and you are introduced to new environments. This is truly a great app and I apologize for not telling you all of it awesomeness. Yes awesomeness is a word. Look it up.

iPhone 4 can't upload HD video directly to YouTube.

Ok, this was driving me crazy. I upload 3 videos to YouTube and look ok but not HD. So I start searching, to only find out you have to sync your video to the mac first then upload! WTF Apple!!!
So don't try it unless you send it to the mac first!

I have found that you can keep shooting pictures continuously with good lighting. So go outside and take some pictures and your iphone camera will keep firing as long as it doesnt need the light!

Could the incidences of yellow banding across the displays of some new iPhone 4 handsets be down to rushed manufacturing and side-effects of the chemicals used in producing the new Apple smartphone? That’s one suggestion today; buried in the discussion over at Apple Insider, one source claims the discoloration is down to the adhesive used to bond the layers of glass in the screen together. That adhesive – Organofunctional Silane Z-6011 - requires a period of drying time post-application; the source suggests that Apple – or their manufacturing partners – rushed through that process and that the blotches should disappear after a few days of use.

Apple is using a bonding agent called Organofunctional Silane Z-6011 to bond the layers of glass. Apparently, Apple (or more likely Foxconn) is shipping these products so quickly that the evaporation process is not complete. However, after one or two days of use, especially with the screen on, will complete the evaporation process and the yellow “blotches” will disappear.

How do I know? I was involved in pitching Z-6011 to Apple.

Now, we’re neither chemists nor engineers, but there do seem to be multiple issues of the banding problem already reported at Apple’s support site, and from what we’ve read of the bonding adhesive it’s made clear that ethanol and silanol groups will be given off post-application and that manufacturers should allow either air-drying or forced-drying time for that to happen. Apple has reportedly experienced production delays in the run up to the launch, and has publicly confirmed that the white iPhone 4 is experiencing unforeseen manufacturing issues and won’t be available until late next month. It’s certainly possible that the demands of a very public launch date have forced Foxconn to rush the process somewhat.

Still, if the Apple Insider forum source is correct, the discoloration problem should fix itself as the iPhone 4 display sandwich dries out. Apple are still yet to publicly comment on the issue, though some support site users who initially experienced the yellow blotches are now saying that, having been using their handsets for a few hours (often in relatively warm climates), the patches are no longer visible.

Early benchmarks of the iPhone 4 show it to be 31% faster than the iPhone 3GS according to the Geekbench 2 app. Geek Bench has been a popular benchmarking utility on the Mac that has recently made the jump over to the iPhone. As always, benchmarks are a bit of an artificial gauge of performance, but can be useful in head to head comparisons.

The iPhone 4 is known to use the same Apple A4 processor that is also found in the iPad, but Apple has never revealed the processor speed of the iPhone 4. The iPad is known to have a 1GHz processor. We looked at a few benchmarking utilities to see if we could determine if the iPhone 4's A4 processor was the same speed as the iPad's. Unfortunately, the state of benchmarking on iOS seems a bit primitive, and is further complicated by the fact that iOS 4.0 does not run on the iPad. GeekBench, for example, only runs on iOS 4, so we can't compare it directly to the iPhone 4's results. A couple of other benchmarking tools available produced some inconsistent results, so we can't be completely confident in them, but it appears that the iPhone 4 is indeed faster than the iPhone 3GS but slower than the iPad.

BenchTest: 3GS: 2.298, iPhone 4: 2.514, iPad: 3.667 - This benchmark only showed a small increase in speed with the iPhone 4, but some of the results seemed strange. All the "seconds" in the iPhone 4 results were listed at 0.00, though a score was still generated. It's hard to say if the results are entirely accurate.

Checkup: 3GS, iPhone 4, iPad - This also showed the trend of iPad > iPhone 4 > iPhone 3GS, but running the benchmark multiple times could result in a large variance.

Pro Zombie Soccer

Pro Zombie soccer has a style of its own. It's japanese punk with a cool cartoonish style. It has nice pick up and play controls using only 1 finger. There are an array of different worlds, zombies, power ups, and details. I love trying to get head shots. It'll never get old with the updates they're sure to come up with. It's a nice game to play when you're bored but can get a little repetitive. All and all it's a pretty sweet game.

iPhone pre order issues first hand!

Well, I tried to pre order my iphone4 and what I pain it was. As it turns out At&T servers were a little overloaded causing them to go down for some time.I found out when I stopped at my friends At&T store to see what was up. They had been doing orders by hand most of the afternoon and just came back online around 130 pm. So I said what the he'll and ordered it at his store. I did find out that they only had 12 pre orders at the store so far, which I thought was small, but I do live in the middle of no where.

AT&T’s all-you-can-eat data plan died Wednesday, and plenty of wireless customers mourned over their loss. But is it really a big deal? It depends on the type of data consumer you are.

The new tiered pricing structure gives AT&T customers the following options:

200 MB for $15 per month. If you exceed the limit, AT&T will charge $15 extra in units of 200 MB.
2 GB for $25 per month. If you surpass this limit, you can pay an extra $10 per extra gigabyte.
Current smartphone users can continue their unlimited data for $30 per month — but if they switch to one of the cheaper plans, they can’t go back to unlimited.
To tether your smartphone to a computer, you must use the 2-GB, $25 plan, and pay an extra $20 for the tethering privilege.

Update to post: after using this app now for even more time sence my first post, I have changed my opinion of this app. I still enjoy it very much,but the crashing when watching video, and when in web page view, has turned me off. In 30 minutes of use this morning,it crashed 3 times.I will be putting this app on the shelf till a update can fix the crashing. Let me know of any issues you are having.

So after seeing the video for the app Pulse, I was very interested in it. I have now used it for a few days, and have some conclusions. It,s awesome but still has some serious issues. I love the layout and the feel of the application,and that you can do a lot of customizing to the app as well.
The issues I have are that you can only have 20 feeds,sounds like a lot but some of us have more. Not every time, but most of the time when I am sending out a tweet from something I am reading, the app shuts off. Also when in web mode on the side and watching the videos play it shuts down a lot of the time as well. I think with a few simple tweaks, this will be the best app in the app store. I have also sent a email in being able to refresh the readers feeds without having to shut the app off and turn it back on again.
Over all I love it, but it needs work to be great.
UPDATE: I just got a email back from one of the 2 gentleman that made this app, and was told in a future update you will be able to refresh your sources within the application. No time frame was given.

iPad on Verizon?

Boy Genius Report has received word that Verizon Wireless is testing new iPad models compatible with the carrier's CDMA-based cellular network.
According to a highly placed source of ours, Verizon Wireless is currently testing Apple iPad devices on their network. We have been told that the model they are testing is a CDMA-compatible device, and while our source mentioned LTE in some capacity (possibly another model), we haven't been able to independently confirm that part of it.

Verizon is set to roll out its LTE (4G) network in up to 30 markets, having been engaged in testing in Boston and Seattle since last August. Verizon's aggressive LTE rollout puts it ahead of AT&T, the current exclusive iPhone carrier in the U.S.

Apple had been expected by many observers to launch the iPad in a partnership with Verizon, but the Apple CEO Steve Jobs surprised many at the device's January introduction by announcing that it would appear as an AT&T exclusive for 3G service in the U.S. Speculation centers around AT&T having outbid its competitors with its data plans for the iPad, offering unlimited data for $29.99 per month. AT&T just today announced, of course, that it is moving to a $25/month, 2 GB data plan for the iPad, although customers on the existing unlimited plan can remain on it as long as they keep their plan active.

Verizon has also been a popular target of rumors regarding the iPhone, with Pegatron being named by sources as the manufacturer for the CDMA-specific hardware. Recent rumors have suggested that a Verizon iPhone could appear as early as November, although many observers think that a 2011 launch is more likely.

Tweetie – the hugely popular and acclaimed iPhone Twitter app – is gone; and the new Tweetie-based official Twitter app for iPhone has been released

We knew this was coming ever since Twitter bought Tweetie, and knew it would be soon when Tweetie was yanked from the App Store yesterday. This morning the new, official Tiwtter app is out – available in the US and Canada App Stores now and in others round the world already or soon.

A few quick notes on the new app based on just a quick look through it and some brief email conversations with our JAiB team …

It is the official Twitter app, which has caused some concern for developers of other Twitter apps. The seller is listed as Twitter, Inc.

Note the version number is 3.0 – the ultimate acknowledgement of the Tweetie to Twitter changeover.

It is also now a free app.

It installed as an update to Tweetie, rather than a new app. I suppose that’s to be expected, but it did not behave like a nice, friendly update and carry over account settings. I had four accounts setup in Tweetie 2, but was welcomed as a brand new user in the Twitter app – prompted to create a new account or sign in to an existing one. Not a huge thing, but a bit of a nuisance.

A cool new feature that you notice right away is that the app lets you use Twitter (or look at it might be a better way of saying it) without logging in and lets you sign up for a new account within the app.

There is now a dedicated Retweet button on the app’s bottom action bar – that’s quite handy

Then again, if you prefer the ‘old-school’ style using RT @username you still have to go to the ‘Quote Tweet’ option.

Sadly, there are reports that Twitter may be filtering out search results that include the ‘RT @username’ syntax. If true, that seems an over-the-top, and kind of nasty tactic. Why not let users choose how they like to use the service, within reason?

The Follow / Unfollow button has been moved up to near the top of the user profile page, a nice change as it makes it quicker and easier to take this common action.

The app now offers a Suggested Users list – divided into categories by topic area …

Twitter is listed as a universal app – compatible with iPhone, iPod Touch, and the iPad – but there is no full-on iPad version yet. On the iPad this one still appears at iPhone size, with only the typical 2X scaled up mode to run on the full iPad screen. Hope they bring an iPad version out soon, as there’s no real killer Twitter app for the device yet.

Search has been reorganized, now you can search all tweets and find users in the same spot, view Top Tweets and Browse Suggested users.

You can now use Twitter without an account! Search, Browse uses, view trends and top tweets.

Sign-up is now availabile within the application as well, complete with Suggested user list.

More tab has been re-organized to accomplish all this. Users with one account can add a second account under the Accounts and Settings button here.

Actions we’ve found people use most, like Retweet have been moved to the main actions bar.

iPad has issues

I have now been using the iPad for some time, and have only a few complaints.
1- when clicking on a link in my home page(my yahoo) the screen dims down and you have to scroll back to the top to see the information. Also you can't scroll within the screen so you have to tap on it again to go to the full web page.
2- when importing pictures from my camera via the dock connector,you can not name the photo groups, it simply just gives you the dates of the photos.
3- The obvious wifi issues that I have from time to time, but everyone is aware of this already.
What issues are you having or if you can solve my issues, let me know.

Twitters own Twitter client soon?

Is Twitter preparing to introduce its very own Twitter app for the iPhone? Signals suggest this is the case, as popular client Tweetie 2 has disappeared from the App Store, shortly after Twitter acquired the app.

“What this likely means is that Apple has already approved the new Twitter for iPhone, and now Twitter just has to put it in the store,” writes TechCrunch.

The most recent Tweetie 2 update had an easter egg noting that Twitter for iPhone was “coming soon.”

Twitter has previously confirmed that it was preparing a dedicated "Twitter for iPad" app and that it was is coming shortly, so could both be included in the bundle?

However, Twitter’s move into producing its own software needs to be executed with precision and care, the analysts at Ovum warned today.

Eden Zoller, principal analyst at Ovum and report author, said, "As Twitter matures, it is inevitable that the company will want to produce or acquire more in-house applications, and there is always a certain inherent tension between developers and platform owners.

"However, Twitter needs to be very careful not to alienate the developer community as they drive innovation for the service and also traffic. It should be remembered that applications account for 75% of all tweets.

"Developers do not want to go to the trouble and cost of building an app if Twitter itself is going to make a big play for same area. This is exactly what Twitter appears to be doing with its in-house applications for smartphones, and the Tweetie application it acquired in April stands out as a case in point."

Last month Twitter announced there were 100,000 applications for the site – double the number available just five months earlier in December 2009.

I am currently working with this program and found 1 great use for it. Have a ipad that is wifi only? Thought about getting the 3g version instead? Well with a jailbroken iphone, you can download the MiWi app and turn the iphone into a wifi hot spot. That means you can now connect your ipad anywhere you are! This is freaking awesome and works great. I recommend trying this to the ipad/iphone users everywhere.

If you consistently encounter issues connecting to a specific Wi-Fi network, try the following steps to resolve your issue:

Update Wi-Fi router firmware

Verify that your Wi-Fi router firmware is up-to-date.
- Note: This is important if your Wi-Fi router supports 802.11n, as it may still be using the draft specification of the 802.11n standard.
- For AirPort Base Stations, refer to this article for information about firmware updates. For third-party Wi- Fi routers, check the manufacturer's website for details on updating your firmware.

Use WPA or WPA2 wireless security

Check the wireless security option of your Wi-Fi router. If WEP is being used, try using WPA or WPA2.
Some Wi-Fi routers using WEP wireless security may cause intermittent disconnects to iPad which requires re-typing a password. Using WPA or WPA2 wireless security on your network will correct this issue.

Note: WPA and WPA2 encryption protocols are newer, more effective security options for wireless networks than the older WEP protocol.

Adjust screen brightness

Check to see if your screen brightness is set to the lowest level by going to Settings > Brightness & Wallpaper. If brightness is at lowest level, increase it by moving the slider to the right and set auto brightness to off.

Note: Brightness control in the iBooks application can also be used to adjust brightness.

Renew IP address

In some larger wireless networks it may be necessary to renew your IP address. Renew your IP address using the following steps:
- Tap Settings > Wi-Fi
- Locate the Wi-Fi network you are currently using and tap
- Tap Renew Lease
If the issue persists, try turning Wi-Fi to Off and then to On.

If after attempting the troubleshooting tips provided above you are still having difficulty connecting to a network please contact Apple.

Blood Beach is the first one of its kind in the appstore.It lets you shoot down plane after plane with tons of different guns. When you actually go to play the game it tells you a little about the plane you'll be shooting while its loading. In the game you sit on the beach . Your job is to not die from planes or boats by shooting them. You can check your score in health in the top right and your ammo in the top left. Underneath your ammo is a pause button and a joystick. The joystick allows you to aim the gun. In the bottom right corner are your reload and fire buttons. On the right side is a zoom bar which allows you to focus in and out. Just watch out for bombs and you'll pretty much succede. When you get into throwing grenades it is the sane principle except you are allowed to set an angle. Overall its another great inexpensive app.

With this game, you get a great new look to play the game. You will see the game from the over the top view of the race, so you get a better view of the track which I like.
Also, when you start out you can pick you character and car and vehicle that is best for you.Although your vehicles are equipped with several options like turrets and rockets, you can purchase upgrades such as speed,weapons and more with the in game upgrades.
The game also gives you 3 choices of difficulty and 3 different modes to choose from to fit your style of play.
In order to advance, you need to win your races to get medals to move on threw even more difficult stages.
Overall I am very pleased with this game, and I love the control features for driving and shooting.This is another top notch game from Chillingo, and we gave it 4.5 Stars

Jules Verne’s Secrets of The Mysterious Island for iPhone and iPod touch is weeks away from coming to the App Store and I hope you can help me spread the word about the game – Also, let me know if you’re interested in reviewing it.

The Mysterious Island, offers the player an experience comparable to that of Robinson Crusoe or one of Verne’s characters. Jules Verne’s Secrets of The Mysterious Island is the sequel to adventure game Return to Mysterious Island released earlier this year. The story continues to follow the adventures of Mina, a young girl who was cast ashore on an island after her ship sunk. At first, she must recover physically from her ordeal by finding items to eat, and then she sets off to explore this new territory cut off from the world in the hopes of finding a way to leave and return home.

The adventure reaches its end after Mina discovers the island's secret, meets Captain Nemo's ghost, and neutralizes the magnetic shield that isolates and conceals the island from the outside world. The cinematic end sequence shows the rescue services’ helicopter Mina had called land on the beach.

Secrets of The Mysterious Island begins with the crash of the helicopter that came to rescue Mina: a sudden volcanic eruption brought down the aircraft. Mina survived but is once again trapped on the island. She searches Captain Nemo's base in vain, then the ruins of an unknown civilization, afterwards, she finally understands that it is outside pollution that threatens the island. The only way to save this natural wonder is to turn the shield back on. If Mina makes this decision, she gives up, as Nemo did before her, the idea of returning to civilization.

For approximately 700 Mb, the player will find out the end of the adventure of Mina, a sailor who finds herself stranded on the shores of a wild and apparently uninhabited island somewhere in the South Pacific. Dracula : the Path of the Dragon will be hitting the iPhone this fall. I got some new assets for the game and wanted to share them with you in hopes that you can help spread the word about this cool Vampire adventure.

In Dracula: the Path of the Dragon for the iPhone you play as Father Arno Moriani, who is sent to investigate a potential candidate for sainthood in Transylvania. Submerged into a riveting storyline, you are challenged to solve complex and engaging puzzles that lead to a final confrontation with Dracula! This gripping adventure sucks you in and leaves you "dying" for more.

The year is 1920. You begin your investigation of Dr. Martha Calugarul in the village of Vladoviste, half-destroyed in World War I. On the hillside sits the Castle of Twilight, the famed home of Vlad the Impaler. Father Arno--not being knowledgeable of the ways of the vampire--begins to track a mysterious figure he believes is responsible for evil deeds in the area. He realizes later, that he is inadvertently walking the path of the dragon. As you solve puzzles based on medicine, history, and the occult, you’ll uncover the mystery of the dragon and of the vampires.

Verizon may be playing hardball with the advertising for the new Droid device, but that’s just business - not so deep down the company would still like to offer the iPhone, Verizon Communications CEO, Ivan Seidenberg, confirmed today.

Speaking up during the carrier’s Q3 financial call, he said the company would be interested in carrying the device, but that, “This is a decision that is exclusively in Apple’s court.”
He also said, “We obviously would be interested at any point in the future they thought it would make sense for them to have us as a partner. And so we will leave it with them on that score.”
Seidenberg observed that his company had to “sit back” and give them “credit” for success, stressing the network wants to offer as broad a choice of devices as it can, and that would include Apple’s iPhone.

Click Gamer's new app will allow anyone with or without a driver's license to experience the craziness of the roads. You will drive, and park anything from a tiny buggy and motorcycle to a huge semi. Just slide the throttle on the right side of your iphone to change your speed and whether you go forward or back. Then just use the accelerometer and tilt the iPhone to change your direction. Be careful though, if you hit another car or hit 5 obstacles you have to restart the level. It's a nice app with good gameplay and challenging levels so it's definitely worth the small fee of $.99.
